Description

CineStill 50Daylight – ISO 50 Colour Negative Film – 35mm Film, 36 Exposures

Ultra-Fine Grain | Daylight-Balanced | High Resolution

CineStill 50Daylight (50D) is the world’s sharpest and finest grain colour negative film, crafted for discerning photographers seeking the ultimate in detail, colour fidelity, and tonal range. Adapted from motion picture technology, this ISO 50 daylight-balanced (5500K) film is factory-spooled in DX-coded steel 35mm cassettes for 36 exposures.

Ideal for shooting in bright daylight and with wide apertures, 50D is engineered to deliver ultra-high resolution and incredibly fine grain. Its extensive dynamic range allows beautiful results at exposure indexes between EI 12–100, giving artists full creative control over highlight rendering, halation, contrast, and colour warmth.

Key Features:

■ EI 50 daylight-balanced colour negative film (5500K)
■ 35mm format – 36 exposures
■ Safe for C-41 photo lab processing or home Cs41 kits
■ Factory-spooled in DX-coded steel cassettes
■ High resolution and ultra-fine grain
■ Unrivalled highlight and shadow latitude
■ Acetate base – strong and archival
■ Compatible with RA-4 optical printing and ideal for hybrid scanning workflows

Exposure Flexibility:

■ Rated between EI 12 to 100 without push processing
■ Lower EI values yield warmer tones and more pronounced halation
■ No visible grain regardless of exposure index – only contrast and tone shift

Processing & Compatibility:

■ Optimised for C-41 development (lab or home)
■ Can be processed in CineStill Cs2 chemistry for lower contrast motion picture results
■ Originally designed for ECN-2, but prepped for safe C-41 workflows (no remjet layer)
■ Suitable for RA-4 printing or high-resolution scanning workflows

Shelf Life & Storage:

■ Improved manufacturing offers extended shelf life
■ Store unexposed film in a refrigerator at or below 13°C (55°F)
■ Allow to reach room temperature before opening sealed roll
■ Process promptly after exposure
■ Store processed negatives in a cool, dry place away from light

Capture daylight scenes with cinematic elegance and unmatched clarity. CineStill 50D is the gold standard in fine grain colour film – your ultimate tool for vibrant, high-fidelity photography.

Note: While 50D can be processed using ECN-2 or Cs2 chemistry, C-41 processing yields better density and gamma for still photography. Long-term archival stability has not been tested beyond 9 years. Any manufacturing defect will be replaced, but no further liability is assumed.
